PRUDENCE

Daily Scripture: 1 Timothy 6:9-10: “But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

  • It is not money itself but the love of money that is the root of all kinds of evil.
  • Money is a means of exchange. We all need money; countries need money, the church needs money. Money moves messages, money massages ministry, money facilitates function and money stabilizes status.
  • Eph 10:19b tells us that “money answers everything.”  Money is necessary. Many people get the wrong understanding and feel that money itself is evil. They look at every rich man as one who has compromised ritualists and con men.
  • They hardly believe anymore that God can make his people rich yet they quote scripture that God gives us the power to make wealth. How can God give you what you do not believe he can do?
  • Those who desire to be rich often get desperate and fall into traps that ensnare them. Seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and the rest will be added unto you. After the seeking comes the adding.
  • We have heard men make conditional statements, tying their service to God to his ability to make them rich. They threaten to stop serving him if he does not bless them. What they do not know is they inadvertently reject God’s love by conditionally accepting him.
  • The real problem is the heart and mind. Controlling the poverty of the heart and mind is where it starts. Until you stop thinking poor, you cannot be rich. With a poverty mindset, you will struggle to understand God’s plan for you financially.
  • Love God, serve him completely and give sacrificially. Be good to men purposefully. As you redefine your relationship with money in this season, God will surprise you.
  • As you open your heart and mind for him to heal your poverty, he will restore all the enemy has stolen and place you where you belong.
  • Don’t love money more than you love God, that is where evil starts until it destroys you. There is so much work for money to do this season. May you be a channel of blessing to the world.
