PRESERVATION

Daily Scripture: Psalm 140: 4-5: “Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men, who have purposed to make my steps stumble. The proud have hidden a snare from me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set traps for me. Selah. Psalm 121: 5,7: “The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.”

  • You are kept by God; God is your keeper. Awesome thought. Have you ever kept something with the mind of safeguarding it? It must have been quite valuable to warrant such attention from you.
  • You will likely ensure it was in a secret place, far away from prying eyes so that it will abide where you kept it safe until you needed it. That thing had no power to protect itself and was only safe because you protected and preserved it.
  • By keeping it, you established its value. In the same way, God is your keeper. You are his valuable treasure. God has covenanted to keep you from destruction. He has promised to stabilize you so that you are not tossed to and fro by circumstances.
  • He has promised to be a shade from the harsh economic weather. He has promised to keep you safe from all evil, all evil. Including that situation threatening your very joy, peace, and existence.
  • His words precede your situation.  His words will outlast your reality. He promised to preserve your soul. He will save and salvage you for himself.
  • God’s promises are yes and amen. He who dwells in the secret place of the Lord shall abide. Locate yourself today where he placed you for safekeeping and abide under the shadow so that he can shade you. You are kept by Jesus.

Good morning, Preserved.
