EXPECTATION

Daily Scripture: Psalm 107: 10-11, 13-14: “Those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, bound in affliction and irons- because they rebelled against the words of God, and despised the counsel of the Most-High… then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces.”

  • God is liberating his people even now. Have faith.
  • So many people have lost their way. A little rebellion, a little stubbornness. Some hardness of heart. Add to that bad counsel against the counsel of God.
  • They felt ‘we can handle it’, ‘we know our way’, ‘we will be fine.’ But it is as if their steps were erased as they walked deeper away from the right path; the road that leads to life.
  • Soon they were lost. No word landmarks or praise heralds to guide them back. So, they exist but sit in darkness, waiting for the light.
  • In their troubles and distress, they cried to God and he who heard. He brought them out of the shadow of death and broke their chains. They cried out, for they knew they had reached their limit.
  • Where man ends God extends. Do not stay in that darkness. Cry out, God hears. He answers and He will save you today. Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him from them all.
  • God will deliver you with many deliverances until his will is fulfilled in you. Do not despair, just cry to the salvager.

Good morning, Expectant.
