VICTORIOUS

Daily Scripture: 1 Chronicles 14: 14-15: “Therefore David inquired again of God, and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; circle around them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. And it shall be, when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”

  • God’s angels are at work. Victory belongs to God.
  • We are creatures of habit. Once something has been done successfully in a particular way, we ritualize it as the standard. God changes things yet remains the same.
  • God told David earlier in the passage above to go up against the Philistines and he defeated them.
  • Again, he enquired as they attacked but God changed the strategy. This time, he said to go around and encircle them. That when they hear the sound of marching on the mulberry trees they should go out to battle and win. Does that even make sense? Victory is in obedience. God always moves with a sound.
  • Elijah told Ahab in Kings 18:41 “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” Sound precedes sight.
  • What sounds are you hearing? Do not let the voices of doom and gloom drown the sound of hope and victory. Yes, indeed God is doing a new thing.
  • There is a sound of rejoicing so loud soon, eyes will see it. Do not be left out. Partake and be blessed. Father, thank you for the sound of change and victory.

Good morning, Partaker.
