CONFESSION

Daily Scripture: Psalm 32: 1-5: “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit, there is no deceit. When I kept silent, my bones drew cold through my groaning all day long. For day and night, your hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah. I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the iniquity of my sin.” Selah.

  • Sin is a killer. It not only kills the soul; it kills the body. When you try to cover your sins, your bones grow old and you age faster.
  • Imagine your vitality turning into the drought of summer. Young, yet you feel old. Heavy in your body and soul. The only antidote to sin is the blood of atonement.
  • Your restoration is in your openness to God. The truth is we have all sinned and keep sinning, falling short of the glory of God but if we confess our sins and forsake our evil ways, God will forgive us and grant us his executive pardon.
  • Proverbs 28:13 “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”
  • Today our prayer is simple. Lord, have mercy on your own. Forgive our sins, heal us and make us whole.
  • Now that there is life and strength, take time to uncover whatever seeks to kill or destroy you so that life may speak to recover you. Any sin you cover will fester like a gangrened wound until it poisons and kills you. Do not hide from God!

Good morning, Surrendered.
