LOVE

Daily Scripture: Luke 6: 22-23: “Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, for the son of man’s sake. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, for in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.”

  • There is a blessing in suffering for Christ. It is not easy to rejoice when you feel broken and abused but sometimes you need to hold your peace and let God fight for you. God wins.
  • Some people will never like you no matter what you do. Unprovoked and unsolicited hatred hurts so much but do not let them undermine you. God has blessed and covered you far from the scourge of men’s tongues. You are ending this year with undiluted joy.
  • 1 Peter 2:15 tells us that when we choose to do good, we silence the foolishness of men. Do not repay them in their coin of hatred. Do good deliberately to honor God. That is the difference between you and others.
  • Our text tells us we are blessed when men hate and revile us. When they call us names and condemn us for no obvious reason or actual offense other than our love for Christ it is counted to us as a blessing.
  • Now you can see why you are so blessed. Though it is very hard “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When, it is in the power of your hand to do so.” (Prov3:27).
  • That is a heart test to show if you will obey God or self. If you choose to do good on purpose, it will neutralize evil arrows from you and please God.

Good morning, Covered.
